Agnès Hayden (Madrid, 2000) is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist working as a filmmaker, music producer, DJ and programmer. Her practice explores the intersection between analog cinematographic methods and contemporary technologies such as artificial intelligence, programming, and 3D rendering.She holds a degree in Cinematography from ECAM and further specialized in Photography at the Instituto del Cine de Madrid. Her research deepened during the Master's program in Audiovisual Laboratory of Creation and Contemporary Practices (LAV), where she focused on analog processes and experimental narratives.Agnès combines film techniques with contemporary technologies, creating works that challenge narrative conventions through visual manipulation and technological transformation.In 2023, she was selected for the prestigious BAICC 2023/24 Residency, completing the project Latitude Mesh at the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT). The work explores how light interacts with hand-crafted photochemical emulsions, questioning the boundaries of the cinematic image. She also composed an 18 minute original soundtrack for the film.In the sonic realm, Agnès writes, produces, sings, mixes and masters her own music under the solo project Ghidra and in the duo Basilisque. Her performances are immersive sonic rituals — charged with adrenaline and energy — always with a drive for experimentation and avant-garde sounds. She has been featured internationally on platforms such as TSUM Records, MERCILESS, Obscuur Records, and The Meaning of Rave, and performed in Madrid, Barcelona, and Switzerland.Her work has been showcased at international festivals and venues including Beijing International Short Film Festival (China), Sorigrim (Seoul), the8fest and Images Festival (Toronto), Peripheries (Chicago), Experiments in Cinema (New Mexico), Elevation Film Festival (UK), Intermediaciones (Colombia), Light Matter (Argentina), S8 Mostra de Cinema Periférico (Spain), Círculo de Bellas Artes, Matadero and Academia de Cine Español (Madrid), among others.Agnès is recognized for transforming complex material and technological processes into meaningful visual and sonic experiences — offering a renewed perspective on contemporary experimental cinema and the plastic possibilities of the moving image.

AGNÈS HAYDEN + GHIDRAIn 2023, Agnès received a spanish/canadian film grant (BAICC 2023/24) to develop her film work Latitude Mesh, which features a soundtrack produced specifically for the film. Another example of her work is the live set music for “Dans la ville de Sylvia” (José Luis Guerín, 2007) at the Academia de Cine de Madrid, where she performed a live soundtrack for the screening.
In June 2023, she presented a live set with textile artist Beatriz Freire at Cineteca Madrid, fusing textile art and electronic music designed for performance.
Agnès has produced other musical pieces available on her SoundCloud profile.In addition to her music production, Agnès' DJ alias is Ghidra. Her sessions are sound rituals that transform the dance floor into a space of adrenaline and liberation. Her proposal runs through the most intense and dynamic aspects of techno, always with a drive for experimentation, avant-garde sounds and the creation of sonic landscapes full of energy.
Her style combines fast rhythms, distorted synthesizers and powerful drums, bringing to the dancefloor also her own productions, both solo and with her duo Basilisque, in which she also sings.
BASILISQUE
Basilisque is a musical duo formed in Madrid in 2021 by Agnès Hayden and Jorge Ramírez, both self-taught producers. Their unique sound encompasses a wide range of genres within contemporary electronic, fusing hardtechno, hardcore, witch house, ambient, noise, and IDM. Through their productions, they seek to bring experimental electronics through punk-style female vocals, eclectic song structures and complex and detailed sound design.Basilisque is part of the spanish independent music label Snap! Clap! Club.Their live performances are known for their hybrid sets, a combination of concert and DJ set, which they have taken to clubs and festivals in cities such as Switzerland, Madrid, Barcelona and at the prestigious Autoplacer festival at CA2M, Madrid.The duo released their first EP, “Fracture”, in February 2024, a piece that travels from dark wave and witch house to a more aggressive and experimental techno.
From that moment on, they’ve been releasing singles with international platforms such as MERCILESS, Obscuur Records, TSUM Records, and The Meaning of Rave.They have also been featured in national media such as Radio 3 and Mondo Sonoro.
